A New Hip Phrase In Sports
To quote Frank Costanza, "What the hell does that mean?" I heard it while the Sox were pursuing Leigh Teixeira's husband (They should move Youk; I gotta believe he reached his ceiling last year). I read it today in The NY Daily News where it is revealed that the Knicks are targeting the Bulls' Larry Hughes. Someone named Frank Isola writes "The Knicks are also split on what to do with Lee, who will be a free agent this summer. Lee has enjoyed a breakout season but some in the organization wonder if he has reached his ceiling." Um, 16.4 PPG, 11.8 RPG, and basically is a pretty damn good ceiling. That sounds to me like a cornerstone, especially since he will turn 26 in about a month or so. But hey, if you can trade him for Larry Hughes, ya gotta make that move. Later in the article, Isola writes that because Lee committed a silly foul towards the end of one game ( a game the lottey bound Knicks won anyway), this is grounds to trade David Lee.
I man, I et that it means one thinks that because this person can only go downhill, it might make sense to move him. But there is no reason to believe that David Lee at the age of 26 is going to see a severe dropoff anytime soon.
